The State of Polish Stand-Up Comedy? A House on Fire!
Stand-up comedy in Poland has been hugely popular for several years now. More and more people want to have a good laugh while listening to some great jokes. One of the most well-known comedians is Pacześ, who rose to fame after appearing on the TV show Mam talent!.
However, there is a noticeable trend among young artists who are trying their hand at stand-up comedy and creating their own shows. Unfortunately, many of these shows tend to be monotonous and rely solely on repeating banal jokes.
Thankfully, there are exceptional artists such as Lotek and Robert Górski who create specific, thoughtful sketches. Moreover, some comedians have decided to combine different styles, like Kuba Zalewski, who not only makes us laugh but also surprises us with his intelligence.
It is also worth mentioning the annual Stand-up Festival in Wrocław, where not only Polish but also international artists can be admired. The festival concludes with the so-called Benefis Gruszkiewicza, in which artists pay tribute to the deceased comedian.
In conclusion, Polish stand-up comedy is constantly evolving towards greater diversity, providing hope for further development of this genre in our country.
