Not everyone is satisfied with their job position, salary, or tasks they have to perform. Some of us suffer from work-related stress, performance pressure, or lack of recognition. This can lead to a risky pattern of complaining. Complaining may mostly be due to the desire to improve working conditions. The truth is, however, that it seldom leads to positive changes. Employees who often hear complains, may start to experience similar frustrations, even if they previously had no feelings on this matter.
What’s surprising is that, despite the obvious negative effects, complaining is often tolerated or even supported in offices. Why? Some believe that complaining can lead to positive changes, by drawing attention to problems that might otherwise be overlooked. The problem is that complaining rarely leads to constructive solutions. Instead, it becomes a cycle of negative interactions that destroy morale and instead of leading to the company’s growth and improving the working conditions of employees, create an atmosphere full of tension and negative emotions.
