Anger Hunger Changed My Life - Truth or Myth?
Article: It is often said that anger is “temporary insanity”, but as it turns out, it can have much longer effects, especially when caused by hunger. One day I found myself disoriented, in a completely new state to me, which turned out to be “hunger.” When we are hungry, our body begins to produce the hormone ghrelin, which increases our appetite. This constant signaling of the body to eat can confuse some of our daily thinking and behavior processes.
Hunger-induced anger began to affect my daily life in the least expected way. I realized that my body is almost constantly feeding. Rush, zeal, and constant food seeking began to rapidly influence my daily tasks. I started forgetting important matters, ignoring the passage of time, and becoming overly focused on eating. Disorientation quickly changed my daily life.
The feeling of constant hunger negatively affected my productivity and concentration. Daily duties that I once performed with ease suddenly became difficult and complicated. I was unable to focus on anything other than food. All my actions and decisions suddenly became subordinate to my own survival. I realized that hunger-induced anger was changing my life.
At first, it wasn’t an easy process. I had to re-understand how hunger affects me and how to deal with its impact on my daily life. After many sessions with a dietitian and psychologist, I understood that my body needs regular meals and snacks to maintain a stable energy level. This change in my lifestyle not only freed me from constant disorientation but also helped me understand how important healthy and balanced nutrition is.
Finally, I am relatively confident that this was not mythology. Hunger-induced anger really changed my life. Thanks to understanding how my body functions under the influence of hunger and how to deal with the negative effects of this state, I managed to regain control over my disorientation. Now I know my limits, I know when I am hungry and am able to properly react to the signals sent by my body. Now my daily life, though different, is stable and peaceful.
